Things Remembered

my friends & i did a lot of jumping off of cliffs in our day.

which reminds me...

karen & i were supposed to start a project like this a while back.
definitely one of the things we forgot.

our subway themed birthday party fun!

Sofia and Audrey celebrated their birthdays last Saturday! It was truly very nice and we were very glad to see all those who were able to come. So I guess I should begin by saying that we did a subway themed party, and by that I don't mean that sandwich shop, but the NYC MTA subway! We got the idea from the awesome designer Erin Jang of The Indigo Bunting. It's a really simple and easy DIY project and we loved all the colors and of course the font: Helvetica. So we took the theme and ran with it. It was also cheap and most of all fun to make!

We made hats & t-shirts and a banner

Adrienne made the subway signs

& their painted frames

So I guess this project will be the first competed project of July!

Friday

arts & crafts

I've been feeling the need to do some arts 'n crafts. I finally found a Michael's near me so I'll be hitting that up. This morning I kept thinking, "an art project a month/week/day will keep the doldrums away." And so it's decided, I will start on projects and depending on how big the project is will try to complete at least one every month.

More pics from Pitts. Responsible for this need to be all crafts-y.

We'll see how this goes.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes

Been feeling bummed lately, but when I watched this it made me happy.
I especially loved the second song, "Home". Probably because, Jade (who looks like a fidgety waifish boy) has such a powerful voice. When she first opened her mouth I was so surprised!
Plus Alex Ebert is so good looking.
